"Mr. Cloud is a professional aeronaut, and spends as much time as he can in the sky. When he was born, he was very fragile and sickly and everyone expected him to die. He let them down. Confined to a veiled bed in a dark room, he grew into a child. At the age of ten his invalid life was abruptly ended when his identical triplet, Valentine, asphyxiated him with a pillow. As a young man he devoted himself entirely to becoming a balloonist and obtained his first hot air balloon, Flying Colors. At one point, The Prince imprisoned Mr. Cloud in a bathtub where he remained for twenty years. Needless to say, he was wrinkled as a walnut. Upon getting out, of course, he immediately invented a Balloonbath to prevent any similar incidents. Mr. Cloud is a sweet man with a meek, quiet nature and a soft, musical voice. He usually appears in his late forties, and often seems older because of his white hair. Between fits of invention, he is frequently found napping precariously in a hammock among the clouds."
